Does Your Retail Store Offer Classes or Seminars?

Sell More & Create Super Loyal Customers By Offering Classes and Seminars

How would you like to:

1) Sell more expensive merchandise and earn more profit per customer?

2) Create a new source of revenue for your business?

3) Create a strong relationship with your customer base?

4) Add new people to your store's customer list?

You can do all of this by having your store offer classes or seminars relevant to a product you carry. You get to establish your store as being the expert in your niche while at the same time educating your customers about the benefits of using products that you sell.

Think about a product that you sell and possible classes you could offer.

Here are a few examples:

- a store selling scrapbooks offering a how-to class on scrapbooking

- a store selling kayaks offering a class on kayaking

- a store selling cookware offering a cooking class

- a store selling wine offering wine tastings

- a store selling furniture offering a class on interior decorating

- a store selling travel gear offering a class on how to best pack for travel

Once you decide upon a class or seminar to offer, you next need to determine your objective. Should you charge a fee to attend, or offer them free to all attendees with your store making sales on the back end. You may decide to do both. You know your customers well enough to know what will be appropriate.

Marketing your class or seminar is simple - place advertisements in your store as well as send out email and/or postcard notices to your customer list. Based on demand, you can offer them 4-6 times a year or monthly.

Offering classes or seminars separates you from your competitors and establishes your store as being experts on what you carry.

You'll also build solid relationships with your attendees.

Plus, they serve as ideal vehicles to sell your merchandise in a non-threatening and low key manner.

If you're not offering classes already, you should strongly consider doing so. Simply put, they can be very effective and profitable.
