The retail news being released by most large retailers shows some

of the worst sales numbers in decades - with some reporting

double-digit declines in year over year sales. For example, Target

reported a 4% decline in sales while The Gap reported a 14% decline

in sales.

Yet there was some encouraging news - December sales for most

retailers were better than November sales.

What does this all mean for your store? What type of customer
