Tough Times Call For Creative Pricing
Seems like every store is running a sale of some sort. Customers
are getting used to seeing the same percentage off and dollars off
promotions almost weekly. To get your sale pricing acted upon, you should look at being creative
to stimulate customer interest. While shopping at a sporting goods store yesterday, I came across
an interesting way to get customers to buy more at a sale price. The offer was this: buy any backpack, bag, or piece of luggage and
get 30% off any other items you can fit in the bag. This type of offer is compelling because it appeals to the deal
seeker. The shoppers objective is to buy more in order to save more,
which is exactly what the retailer is wanting to occur. To make this creative pricing sale more effective, bags were stacked
next to the check out desk, there was instore signage, and the
sales staff mentioned it to every customer. Think of how you can come up with a similar offer for your store. ==============================================================
