How to Generate New Business From Former Customers
Every retailer has them: former customers who haven't been seen in
your store in quite a while. These former customers know your store
and obviously like your store based on the fact they have bought from
you in the past. They represent a very good source of new business if you contact them.
Have your sales staff reach out to them by: - calling them on the telephone and letting them know that you miss
having them as customers and inviting them in to your store. For
customers who do not answer, leave a cheerful message relaying your
desire to have them back and clearly state your special welcome
back offer - send out an email to all former customers inviting them back into
your store - whether you call or email, provide a special offer such as a store
gift certificate or welcome back store pricing - personalize your communications so that the former customers feel
you are being genuine in your effort to woo them back Schedule this former customer contact during slow times or in between
customers. Your cost to implement this will be minimal - just your time.
